When Seeker Agency and Solution Entertainment brought Snoop Dogg to Melbourne for a once in a lifetime show at The Espy, we were asked to capture everything. The meet and greet. The performance. The atmosphere. The moments that only happen once and never repeat. These are the types of shoots where you do not get a second chance. There are no retakes. No resets. Just pure anticipation, fast thinking, and the pressure to get every shot right.
Our role was simple to describe but intense to deliver. Photograph the meet and greet. Capture highlight images from the performance. Create a short video that showed the energy of the night. And do it all while moving with Snoop from room to room, through tight hallways, and onto the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans. Here is how we filmed Snoop Dogg in Melbourne.
The Meet and Greet
Capturing the meet and greet with speed and accuracy
A meet and greet with a global artist moves fast. You do not get retakes. You do not get five seconds to adjust settings. People step in, take their photo, and move on. Our priority was to build a workflow that kept the experience smooth. Clean lighting. Fast shutter speed. Simple direction. No friction for the guests. When you only have a second or two to capture a moment that fans will keep forever, preparation matters more than anything.
The Espy
The Espy is one of the most historic music venues in the country and it has its own look and personality. We wanted to capture that without interrupting the flow of the night. Low light, moving crowds, and a high energy audience meant we had to adapt constantly. We positioned ourselves to get the right balance of atmosphere and clarity. This is where experience makes the difference. You need to work with the room rather than fight it.
Capturing Snoop's Performance
The moment Snoop walked out of the meet and greet room, we followed him down the Espy staircase, through the hallway, and straight onto the stage.
This is the part of the job where you cannot make mistakes.

You need to stay calm and trust your craft.
Once he stepped onto that stage, everything snapped into place. The smoke, the heat, the crowd, the music. Every frame was full of life. Every second had a story in it.
Building the Highlight Everyone Shares
Events like this live long beyond the night when the content is strong. Our final job was to turn all the footage and photos into a short, punchy highlight video for social media. Fast cuts. Strong music. Clean colour. A story that captures the feeling of the night without dragging on. Social content needs to be sharp and emotional. People need to feel like they were there even if they were not.
